What is OneDay?
OneDay is the name of the City of Dallas' once-weekly garbage and recycling collection service. When OneDay comes to your neighborhood, you and your neighbors will be able to have your recycling and garbage collected once a week, on the same day each week. OneDay is being implemented across the City of Dallas in phases over the next several years. Find out your OneDAY.
Yes!
Yes, even though you probably won't need it. When you recycle, you'll find that nearly half of your items will be in the garbage roll cart, and the other half will be in the Big Blue recycling roll cart. If for some reason you do find that you'd like to have another garbage roll cart, just call 3-1-1 or visit www.dallascityhall.com to order another one. Each additional garbage roll cart costs $11.86 per month.
Wow! If you're producing enough recycling to fill up your Big Blue recycling roll cart every week, you must be doing something right. Instead of ordering another Big Blue recycling roll cart, why not use the blue or clear translucent bags for your recycling. If you put the bags next to your cart, we'll pick them up on your OneDay.
No. Leave your roll carts and recycling bags where you normally do-either in your alley, or at your curb-and we'll pick them up just like always.
Almost everything made of paper, plastic, metal or glass can be recycled. And best of all, you don't have to sort them, just rinse and put everything into your Big Blue recycling roll cart or recycling bags.
Paper: newspapers and inserts, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, office paper, mail and junk mail
Flattened cardboard: boxes, chipboard (like cereal and tissue boxes)
Plastic containers: rinse and recycle all bottles, jars and containers with the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6, or 7 inside the recycling symbol triangle
Metals: steel, tin, aluminum and aresol cans
Glass: Unbroken and rinsed bottles and jars of all colors
Styrofoam: Rinsed take-out food containers ONLY (no packaging "peanuts" or similar items)
No? Just rinse and put everything into your Big Blue recycling roll cart or recycling bags.
Call 3-1-1 or go to www.dallascityhall.com to order, and your Big Blue recycling roll cart will be delivered within two weeks.
Blue or clear translucent recycling bags can be used for any items that won't fit into your Big Blue recycling roll cart each week. Recycling bags are free at Dallas libraries and recreation centers, or you can call 3-1-1.
Absolutely! If your OneDay falls on a holiday, your make-up day will be shown in RED on the recycling collection calendar schedule, or you can call 3-1-1 to find out when your make-up day is.
Just call 3-1-1 or 214-670-4475 and let us know what you need done, and we'll take care of it for you.
